In the early 70's there was a tremendous fad surrounding
the game of chess as Bobby Fischer was defeating Boris Spasky for the world title. Chess
sets were soon being sold everywhere, and for outrageous prices. All of a sudden,
everybody was playing chess. A similar fad status was achieved by tennis in the
mid 70's. This the result of an upstart Jimmy Connors with his unorthodox round
headed, steel framed, tennis racket.
"Someday
Trance Channeling will be as commonly accepted as the idea that the Earth rotates around the Sun." |
Trance Channeling,
or Trance Mediumship, reached fad status in the 1980's. This was not the
first time. At the turn of the century there were literally thousands of groups
worldwide experimenting with Trance Mediumship. Abraham Lincoln reportedly utilized a Trance Channel named Nettie Colburn to speak with a non-physical entity and
guide repeatedly from 1861 to 1863, with witnesses present each time. Of
the Trance Channeling he reportedly said "I
think it more important than perhaps anyone present can understand".
"...despite
the lack of media attention, today's Trance Channels are sharing amazing experiences." |
When the Spiritualists, who were in the social upper classes
of the late 1800's and early 1900's, were communicating in this fashion, they truly believed that a revolutionary way of thought
and living was certainly on the horizon. But fads always blow over. When this inevitably occurs, the masses move on to something new.
The activities underlying the fad are forgotten by most.
But today people are still playing chess, and they are still
playing tennis. They are simply not doing so at the fad level of attention these
days. The passing of a fad burns away the fluff, leaving the essence of the activity. People are still Trance Channeling also. And despite the lack of media attention, today's Trance Channels are sharing amazing
experiences; experiences that reveal the nature of consciousness and involve the very fabric of reality.
"Trance
Channeling is first and foremost a means of communication." |
From time to time, the nature of Trance Channeling should
be revisited for the benefit of those who are newcomers to studies of consciousness.
The apparent fads of their parent's time should not rob individuals today of their own opportunity to evaluate, explore,
and develop understandings about the conscious Self and the conscious universe. Succeeding
generations view phenomena and concepts usually with greater and greater openness and awareness. The Berlin Wall, slavery, and the concept of a flat world have all fallen.
People in this century can fly across the country or around the world, not
because the laws of physics have changed. Men and women have simply changed their
minds about what is possible. Someday
Trance Channeling will be as commonly accepted as the idea that the Earth rotates around the Sun.
So What Is Trance Channeling Anyway?
"...this
communication is simultaneous regardless of the apparent distance..." |
Trance Channeling
is first and foremost a means of communication. It is a means very much akin
to what many people think of as telepathy.
A very fair comparison can be drawn between common television and radio signal receptions and Trance Channeling. But since the most commonly used interactive,
or two way, communications today in the mid 1990's take place through an instrument known as the telephone, we will start
by comparing the person doing the Trance Channeling, i.e. the Trance Channel, to a common telephone.

think it [Trance Mediumship] more important than perhaps anyone present can understand".

By using a Trance Channel one being can communicate with
another being at great apparent distances. However, in the case of a Trance Channel,
one can communicate across distances measured in space, time, and / or distances between dimensions. This may sound a little like something out of Star Trek, but
it is nonetheless true whether the so called mainstream believes it or not.
Both the Trance Channel and the telephone are instruments. One instrument is telephonic and the other
instrument is telepathic. In both
cases a signal of sorts is received by the instrument. The instrument then converts
the signal to a pattern recognizable by the recipient. In the case of a telephone
that pattern is sound, usually the spoken word. With a Trance Channel, the communication
patterns reproduced may include speech, handwriting, typing, facial expressions, body language, and any other pattern of communication
that the human body is capable of.
In the near future, telephones will likely include video
patterns as well as speech. Perhaps then the name will be changed from telephone to video-phone. Extending
that scenario, it is probably quite descriptive to refer to a Trance Channel as a consciousness-phone. Yes, the medium through which Trance Channeled
communications propagate is consciousness, and this communication is simultaneous regardless of the apparent distance across space, space-time, time, or between different dimensions.
For those inspired to ask What about the speed of light?, it is not applicable as a limit. Even
currently accepted ideas about quantum physics suggest that atomic particles are
aware of what other atomic particles are doing, so to speak, simultaneously regardless of distance. However, an understanding of the principals of quantum physics is certainly not necessary to the understanding and enjoyment of Trance Channeling.

would invest some of its budget on research into Trance Channeling, it would achieve far greater results."

(A brief
And now a brief tangent about the organization SETI, Search for Extra -Terrestrial Intelligence:
This well intentioned scientific endeavor spends millions of dollars "listening"
for radio waves transmitted by extra-terrestrial civilizations. This is like a pre-twentieth century Earth civilization standing on a hill and waiting to see smoke signals.
Radio waves, which travel at the speed of light, are way too slow to be
useful given inter-stellar distances. Communication via consciousness is, on
the other hand, simultaneous. Consciousness is the communications vehicle used by civilizations
that are capable of inter-stellar flight; not radio. If SETI would invest some of its budget on research into Trance
Channeling, it would achieve far greater results.
But What Is Trance Channeling?
Trance Channeling is when a person, the Trance Channel, lets
his or her conscious self step aside, or in some cases leave the body as in an out-of-body experience or a dream, allowing an entity from any one of various sources to then project its consciousness in such a way that
the Trance Channel's body responds. This usually will involve speech and some
level of movement by the body, or to use our metaphor, movement by the Trance Channeling instrument.
The channeled entity is not actually in the Trance Channeling
instrument, any more than the voice you hear on a telephone is the actual voice of the person on the other end. It is a recreation. The body of the Trance Channel recreates
an approximation of the communications projected by the channeled entity in much
the same way as the speaker in the telephone ear piece recreates an approximation of
the spoken words of the person on the other end of the line. (continue to next page of this article -->>)
